Hi,

Well, where do I start? Houses are they older/new/mixed? What sort of price would you pay for a 3 or 4 bed home to buy/rent? What primary schools are there in the area? Are there any daycare centres? How far is it from the city? It Doesn't look like it has a train station, does it? Are there any areas you would advise us to steer clear of?

We are living in Quinns Rock, Perth, WA, 40mins from the city, next to the sea. Nothing around here is open after 9pm, the bar closes as soon as they are down to 1 person, there are plenty of parks and some lovely beaches but, once it rains there is not much else to do. We have two children aged 2 & 4, In the UK we took the kids to soft play areas, The Snow dome, swimming, Parks, Zoo and we went out for meals. We are finding it hard over here as even the soft play areas close at 3pm. We were looking at Altona but, it looks quite industrial. Any help or advise would be useful. Thanks in advance for your help.

Jon

If you haven't seen it already, then have a look at the Delfin Caroline Springs website - Caroline Springs > Location & Directions It's got a pretty good list of what's available around the area.

It's all new. The whole suburb is less than 10 years old, with most of still probably less than 5 years.

Caroline Springs Real Estate - Welcome

HAHA ... There are more schools/daycare centres than I know what to do with, and they're still building more :p Community Lifestyle > Education

It's between 20-30KM from the city. The nearest train station is between a ~10-15 minute drive, depending on where abouts in Caroline Springs you actually start out from. If you're going to be travelling anywhere near peak-hour though, the trains can get mighty crowded.

Not within Caroline Springs ... but some of the nearby suburbs have a few dodgy patches. St Albans, Sunshine etc ...

There's HEAPS of parks around the place, but they're not nearly as green as they used to be. The drought + water restrictions have certainly taken their toll. Community Lifestyle > Open Spaces There's not really any decent beaches nearby though ... it's a fair drive to get to a GOOD beach. There are a couple of decent pubs around, and there's also a few small bottleshops as well. The Club - Caroline Springs The Sugar Gum Hotel Let me know if there's anything else ....
