building extensions

can anyone help? is there much call for building extensions on houses in australia? thats what i do here but i've not heard or seen much of that type of thing there. thanks

Hi there.

I don't know the exact answers to your questions but I can tell you that as far as the Gold Coast is concerned I think people generally have new builds. Or they just keep moving up the ladder, or along it. I'm sure people do have extensions but overall I don't think it's so much the done thing there as it is in the UK. Maybe in the future it will be but I suppose as it's a relatively new place with so much 'empty' land for now it's all about new builds. I imagine your building skills on extensions would be great for house building in general over there though.

Of course there is high demand in inner city areas. All need extensions renovations or upper storey additions in Melbourne in inner 10 kilometre radius due to population increases. Would be almost same in Sydney. But Melb is growing faster now. Most small builders or carpenters do it, with small archis. try MBA lists.
