Opening a bank account whilst on hols.

Hi.
Does anyone know if it's possible to open up a bank account in Oz whilst over there on holiday/ doing a recky. I don't have my visa yet but thought it would be a good idea to sort it out sooner rather than later.

Its very easy to do on line and then just nip into a branch and activate it when you move here.To go into a branch whilst on a reccie would be ok as long as you have proof of an address,

Do you know if you need to have your visa approved though. I'm still in the early stages of my application and don't even have a C/O yet and god forbid I might not be offered a visa, (although I think this is very unlikely)
I will have a look at Wespac's website etc.
