When Should We Set Up Bank Account

HI DOES ANYONE KNOW WHEN WE SHOULD SET UP AN ACCOUNT WITH WEST PAC WE DONT WANT TO TRANSFER MONEY OVER TILL THE END OF MAY AS WE ARE GOING 25TH JUNE. AND WANT TO GET AS MUCH MONEY IN. DOES IT TAKE SO LONG TO TRANSFER MONEY ETC WOULD APPRECIATE SOME ADVICE.

Hi
I'd set up your account quite soon as when you open it you have 30 days to transfer your money in. Its pretty easy just fill in an online form and they will send you the paperwork through. Once it is opened you have the 30 days to tranfer some money into the account. Once you get to Oz you will need to go into a branch and provide ID (passport with visa in is fine plus an address, driving licence etc...)

When i was in Perth to validate my visa last year i opened up an account. Now when i want to send money across i do it from my own bank. We head over in 4 weeks.

Hi, ive just opened 2 accounts with westpac from the uk a current account and a savings account 5.25%. I did fill in an online application but as we were in the uk i had to do it by phone. It was really easy and got set up for internet banking straight away. The account has to be activated either in person or by sending a reference by your current bank so withdrawals are allowed.
