The thing is Jaynie,for some of us,living in Oz is a painful experience,we came here full of expectation and it just didn't work,but a lot of us whilst trying to sell houses or do whatever needs to be done before we shoot back over to blighty,need to vent some opinions and listen to other people who are in the same boat.Poms in Oz is the place we do it...And i think it's safe to say we have all turned into alcoholics in the process,and yes it is Aldo in that box,you'll see him most nights down fortitude valley flaunting it!

I think it's not so much that people don't want to read the negitive bits, but get annoyed why there is always someone that feels the need to put a black cloud on a postive thread. To me thats just plain mean! If you are unhappy and want to vent it..go make a thread..stop raining on the nice ones..

This is a very uplifting thread and i thank you for it...
It is so nice to read of happy people...

When we are having a low day as everyone gets in life it's is nice to read some good news and feel joy for others!

And i for one can't see a damn thing wrong with that!!

I intend to look upon this as a great adventure for my self and my family!

life is an adventure and it's there to be explored ...

Everyday when I drive to work I come over the top of the hill in Gosford and see the beautiful waterfront, the skies in the Winter are fabulous, I was looking at them today and they are so Blue, people in general are chatty and polite, I work in customer service and the amount of people who are strange and mean can be counted on one hand in a 12 month period.

The places we can go out and visit are numerous, no parking fees, thankfully petrol (although is higher now) is not as expensive as in the UK, facilities are clean.

I have popped in to the Negative thread and thankfully refrained from posting in there, it has become a slanging match at times and I wonder why? after all this is 'Poms in OZ' people want to come and live here for a better life, life is what you make it, if you are unhappy then change things, you don't have to moan on a public forum about Australias' downfall.

I am returning to the UK in 2 weeks time to visit my parents, I haven't seen them for over 5yrs, so I will be interested to see what has changed since my last visit, but this I am sure of.........When the captain says "We are about to land in Sydney" I for one will be cheering, 'I am home at last'

i am hoping to have the same reply as janie , your new life is what you make it. i intend to go down there and give it 110per cent
