Welcome!

Absolutely - come to Canberra! We have the best of both worlds - very clearly defined seasons (lots of beautiful autumn leaves at the moment). We are 90 minutes from some stunning beaches, 2 hours from Australia's best snowfields, 3 hours from Sydney and, if you are really desperate 7 hours from Melbourne. They are saying we are going to have a construction boom - the govt has released a whole lot of land for new homes to accommodate people they are hoping to bring in. We have good facilities on the whole and they dont call it the bush capital for nothing - you can see the bush from anywhere in town and can be walking in the bush with only a short drive. We have wineries within cooee, decent restaurants and a nice line in alfresco cafes. Unemployment is at an all time low and whilst I have no idea about the trades (you cannot get an electrician here if you want domestic work done, so they must be busy!) you cant walk through the shopping centres without seeing loads of adverts in the windows for retail staff.

First thing I would recommend you do is chat to a few agents to make sure you will be eligible to emigrate and meet the strict criteria required, most of them offer a free 10-15 chat over the phone; there are several recommended ones on here, Go Matilda, Visa Bureau, Ian Harrop to name a few.
As regards the seasons in Oz, Im no expert but I believe that areas further south, such as Adelaide are more temperate climates than other parts of Oz, where it can get particularly hot and/or humid. Again, there will be plenty of people on here to give advice on the extremes of climes that Oz can offer!

Anyway, welcome to the wacky world of us and hope you enjoy the ride!!
Nothing to do with the post as I don't know enough to give an answer but Sadsmile23 - you rock!!!!!!!!!!! I wish we all got a welcome like that!!!! Just had to put that!

I would recomend country victoia if you can get work. 4 distinct seasons which are guaranteed. But not 4 in one day like melbourne lolBright in the high country is beautiful i would recomend it for a holiday if you are based in melbourne, not too far away.
