Has anyone sold their house from Oz ? because we are running out of time

Hello,

I really need help, our flights are booked for 14 July 08 and we're heading for Perth. All was going well until my Mother died suddenly and for weeks everything came to a standstill. Now our house is being decorated and will hopefull be on the market by the end of April ! has anyone sold their house from Oz, if so, how did it go ? your experiences please.

We sold our house in Spain whilst here,we had to sign power of attorney over to someone trustworthy but didnt have any major hassle,hope this helps a bit

Sorry to hear about your mum,

My hubby sold his house in Oz when he came back to the uk for a short time - no problems what so ever. (every thing was done via mail/fax/email)

we are going to have to do this too, as with only 3 weeks until we leave i really cant see the house selling in that time, so we will be making outlaws power of attourney so they can sign for us.

We leave England on the 8th of May, so we are going to have to sell from Australia. It's now been 10 weeks since we had anyone round. We are going to leave it to a close family friend to look after it.
We are leaving a load of money here to keep paying the morgage etc. What a waste of money, but we can't do anything about it.

We have just changed agents as they have an excellent reputation in the rental area.....look after the properties well and really check the tenants out. So if the house doesn't sell before we are ready to go then we will rent it whilst still having the property on the market for sale. Only way to do with the way things are with the UK housing market. Just another hurdle to get over - it obviously is a hassle we could all do without but there are many others on here who have done it - gone to Aus and forgot about their house.
