Vetassess - Plumbers

Hi Guy's

Just wanted to ask if anyone has done the Vetassess practical for plumber? Where did you go to do this, i have heard Accrington? Did you have to take own tools, and what did they ask? So many questions -sorry!
My OH has filled out the paperwork with our agent and now has to play the waiting game to see if he will pass to get to do the practical.
Any info would be great.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Jacky and Andy,

My OH did the plumbing practical on Wednesday. Like you guys...we were nervous. But D said it wasnt that bad. (Hopefully he has passed - you find out in the post.)
His was in Accrington college from 7.30am - registration until about 5.30pm with a lunch break and tea breaks.
You get sent a pack from VETASSESS with directions, the day details and tool list etc... However, D hired out a couple of tools at a ridiculous price as he didnt have them but they were there in the workshop!
I'll double check with him though before Andys test as we wouldnt want you not to have everything you need.

He had to do 3/4 practicals and was asked a few questions throughout the day.

Now....we have to wait again to see if we can now move onto the visa application.

Hope that helps a bit guys...

Vik

p.s OH also had to answer a question paper on each of the practicals. Gas, water and drainage.

Hi Vix & D,
i am a plumber also filling out the paperwork at the moment, hopefully doing the practical in october time, it would be interesting to hear from D as to what exactly he had to do for his practical, as he must be one of the first that i know of to complete it.

Good luck with the result

Gary & Heather

Hi Vix&D

Thank you so much for coming back with that information. Andy really is anxious that they will ask questions he isnt sure on (if he gets to do the test that is) especially sheet roofing? I also think he lacks confidence in himself, even though he has 20 year experience under his belt, and is great at what he does. but easy for us to say things will be ok, we are not doing the test!
Can i ask, how long was it before you heard from Vetassess from sending the forms off?
Good luck to you guy's hope you get the positive result, keep us posted.

Hi Vix&D
My OH is hoping to do plumbing in July at Accrington, could you give us anymore details on the practical and theory tests. Was D asked anything about Electric Welding or Concreting as these are the 2 things we've been told we may be asked about in the practical? Sorry for asking all the questions but we would like to be prepared for July!!!
Thanks
JVM

Thanks for the information!!
My OH has his practical on 17th July and we are nervous!

Did you get asked any questions on the roofing side of things? It says on our paperwork about pre-fabrecation and joining metal sheets? Surely this can't be part of the assessment considering roofers do this now-a-days!!

Any feedback would be great!!!

Hi there Jacky and Andy

I hope you can help, my OH is a plumber and we want to emigrate to Oz, we have been trying to get some info about what exactly is required at the practical, my OH is really worried because he hasn't done any sheet metal work or irrigation work. When he has spoken to people at different agencies all they've said is that it would be fine. But my other half wants to be sure before we start forking out quite alot of money and time. If you could let us know what is involved in the practical, hopefully that would put my OH mind at rest. It's such a big step you just want to get it right. If you could let us know we would really appreciate it.Thank you so much. Angela & Theo[quote=Vix&D;221101]Hi Jacky and Andy,
