Telling kids aged 3 & 5

Hi, Has anyone got any advice as to how to explain to a 3 and 5 year old that they mum and dad are moving them to the other side of world and that they will never seen the majority of there friends and family again or for a very long time.

i have a 4yr old, and we will hopefully be in oz by xmas.
i just told him straight where he was going and that he wont see his granparents and family for a long time ( in my case about 2 months knowing my mam)
it does help if you show him pictures, tv programmes of where you are going so they will get excited. like a holiday.
with regards to their freinds they will make plenty, as kids can make friends easier then adults.
and with family they will be able to see and speak to them with webcam it will help alot.
the main thing is they will have mam and dad, thats what counts the most.

My little girl was 3 when we moved. We told her she was getting a new house and a new bedroom. We had to go on a big plane to our new house and nana and grandad would be a long way away. But she gets to go to the beach and nice parks.

For the first few months she did ask to see them or if they could come to the house. But we put the webcam on so she could see them.

We have just been back to the Uk for visit, she understands how far away it is, but she was totally happy to come back. She loves it here.
