Unhappy Worried !!

I am growing more and more worried as i read pio....

All i seem to read is how unhappy everyone is when they get there
Is it really that bad? Does it really make everyone so unhappy?

Is there anyone out there thats enjoying it or is glad they went cos on the forum here it seems that everyone wishes they could come back to the uk...or is it a case of you just have forgotten how bad the uk has become?

Reading this forum is enough to put anyone off going, and im getting more and more worried that we are doing the right thing, even though ive wanted this for many years and i loved it when i was on holiday..

But thats worried me too now as thats all it was ....A holiday !!!

How do your kids get on...do the kids enjoy being there cos thats one of our main reasons for going !!!

Is it anyone area that people are not liking...

Ok im sorry to waffle ....having a panic day

*sigh*....i do hope its not as bad as it sounds.....we cant afford to come back no matter how unhappy we are...

It's one way for us ONLY!!

HI Lilly Mist,

So good to read your post I thought I was the only one feeling like this. Yesterday I really started to worry about leaving the UK. I have been so excited about moving but having read the posts recently am also extremely worried about it.There was a poll that ran recently which showed how many people were returning and how many staying - those staying were heaps more than those returning but I am worried that the only reason they are staying is because they can't afford to return. It will be good to see what other members have to say but suffice to say you are not alone.

Nikci

Hi Lily and welcome to PIO

Not sure what you are reading, but most of the people on here love being there.

Of course they have the odd gripe but on the whole I would say 90/95% are happy in their chosen new lifes.

Have a look at threads by Ali, Mrsbraveheart, jonpaul, tonyandlynne, thebroughtons, calngary there are loads to mention.

Not sure how reading this forum is enough to put anyone off, thanks to speaking to many people on here I am more excited to go than ever.

Hi Lilly
I think you're just seeing the bad comments, I've seen many good ones too.
It's probably a good thing to get the bad with the good - that makes us all more realistic about what it will be like when we get there!
There is no place in the world where everyone is happy to be or with 100% safety and no crime etc, otherwise we'd all be going there LOL!
Keep reading PIO and you'll see a good mix of happy and sad, good days and bad.
We're still really looking forward to going; hurry up visas so we can book our flights!!!!
Good luck anyway, keep us posted!

Ok so there have been a few people on here recently who have had an experience that wasn't up to what they expected. But that's because most people build it up to something that it's not. It's not a "dream" life, you still have to work, pay taxes, pay bills and put up with a lot of the other negatives that life brings. Just because you have moved to the other side of the world doesn't mean that these things go away.
The difference is this place has more to offer in lifestyle than the UK does, and not everyone can make the most of it. Some miss family and friends too much to even think about trying new things, and others just move to to an area that doesn't suit them.

It's been said before, and I'll repeat it, "it's the same s**t, just a much shiner shovel".

That said, we love it here and have NO intention of going back.

My sister has been in Oz nearly 4 years and is very, very happy.

One day (hopefully this year), we will be there and I cannot wait. Our minds our set that Oz is where we want to be and we are going to try damn hard to make our lives as good as we can. We are not stupid so know it will not be easy. Kaye (Wardy) is right there are far more people on here who are living there and loving it. Concentrate on them and ignore the negatives. At the end of the day the decision is yours don't let anyone else sway you.

Claire

worried

I think im just having a down day...thanks all for your replies...

It is what i want in my heart but i guess sometimes i let my emotions run away and get all knotted !!

My mum is having some health issues and i think thats playing on my mind ALOT...and she has been having a great deal to do with my kids the last few mths and im feeling guilty about them too...

I do know its what we want as a family and im sure everyone goes though doubt...

Guess i just needed to see how everyone felt....

I feel a bit daft now...
