pros and cons of leaving house in uk

Just wondered if anyone has gone and left someone they know or a solicitor to deal with the house sale and have gone off to Oz, and did it work out ok or should we sit put was thinking of putting a tenant in for six months and house up for sale at the same time.

Hi ya

We are doing exactly that - if we don't sell the house in the next 4 weeks we will be leaving the house in the capable hands of our parents and asking them to sell it. Have considered renting it too however concerned about tenants and what they'll do to it. Obvious downfall is that we still have to pay the mortgage which makes things tight at the other end !

No way was I going to sell my flat in the UK....I am renting it out...what happens if you do not like Oz?
some people are going back after 5 or 10 years and find they cannot get back on the ladder.

if we dont sell ours we will be leaving it to my mum to sell for us im not sitting around in this dump once ive got that visa in my hand!!!!

You will find Oz not that different to the UK and the problems honestly, and so many I know have gone back who came over with the same attitude.

well it cant be worse than where i am now believe me and its up to me and my family to go and try it but thanks for your feed back - if i dont go ill never no each to their own and all that

If you do not come you will never know....but come with eyes wide open...Oz has certainly opened mine and it is not as I thought it would be.

we left ours in the hands of our estate agent as we had already agreed a sale before we left ,then it fell through.in the end it all went smoothly and all cash transferred straight to oz account
