Finding Perth boring, where next

Single guy 27 and finding Perth boring, I have an oz girlfriend and a good job but find the place soooo boring...Lived in London for 8 years and really miss the buzz and life of the place, going to give it another 12 months maybe in Brisbane or Sydney before deciding if I go back or stay, anyone else feel the same about Perth?

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenage boys and heading to Perth, from what I have read it seems to be a place better suited to families, but I could be wrong.

Having spent some time in Brisbane and the gold coast it may be better suited for the kind of lifestyle you are looking for, which I guess is lively bars, music scene etc. I would say the sunshine coast side of Brisbane may be a liitle quiet for you.

Having not been to Perth, jobs are taking us that way, I am not to sure I could be talking utter pap.

We live in Newcastle and to say its a lively city is an understatement i'm looking forward to the laid back, more socialising with friends kind of lifestyle that is harder to find here.

Hi Earlwood,
Perth doesn't suit everybody thats for sure. We visited in 2007 and found it really quiet, more for young families we thought. We are OH 44 and me 40 with 2 teenage boys so knew it wouldnt be lively enough for any of us. We are heading for the Gold Coast plenty to do there with the buzz that you need. Everything in close proximity so no driving for hours to get to the next place.
Definatley give Brisbane a go!! Hope things work out for you.
Kind regards Alison x

Hi Alison

What did you feel that Perth could not offer your 2 teenage boys, what was there not enough of.

Be grateful for your input

thanks

Might find it perfect as a family, the kids might want a bit more life in a few years though,

Hi Earlswood

Welcome to Poms in Oz.

What are your hobbies? I think this is quite an important factor with Perth.

Best wishes

Gill

Life on easy street is on a distinguished road
Melbourne

The life style in Perth is one of the most laid back cities in Australia.

So I am not surprised that you are finding life a bit slow when compared to life in London.

Have you visited Melbourne?

I'd head for Sydney - my brother and his wife lived there before they married and had children - also Melbourne. Perth is laid back (I wouldn't say boring but then I'm not 27!), also I think location is important in Perth being close to the city and northbridge for the night life if you're younger. What about your girlfriend where does she want to live?

Ali

My current girlfriend is Perth born...I dont mind "laid back" but Perth for me is not the "laid back" jamaican style which I love....might try Brisbane in the next 6 months.
