quick tax question...

This is probably going to stir the hornets nest but....

My tax return will be due end of Jan next year and we will hopefully be in perth by then so should I.....

Ignore it and just go to Oz and let the taxman try and find me......or ring the inland revenue and fess up, fill my return in and pay my tax

I'm expecting the similar sort of answers that are normally in the 'debt' threads but was just wondering on peoples opinions and experiences of my dilema

Unless you can give a sensible answer, dont bother posting

Paying this government tax is also legalised theft on their behalf

You're not stealing from the Gov you're stealing from everyone in the UK. Honest people have to pay just that little bit more in tax to pay for the goods and services you're using without paying your share.

Its like shop lifting... customers pay for the loses in the end not the shop.

Is that a sensible enough answer for you?

in your first financial year in Oz you will be taxed on your earnings in the UK for that financial year and your earnings in Australia so you might as well sort it all out before you come over. Its hard due to time difference to contact companies in the UK whilst working. Aussie tax year is July to June.

We all hate paying taxes but they will find you one way or another!!!!!

This really is a poor post from you

To be honest I couldnt care less about everyone else in the UK

I pay 40% tax and I dont see 'everyone' else in the UK feeling sorry for me, nor would I expect them to

I also find it astounding how you automatically assume that I'm going to do a runner without paying my tax.

I am after sensible replies to this thread from self employed people who may be in the same boat as me so I suggest you climb off your moral soapbox

By the way I also employ a monkey butler so I would be interested in hearing your moral stance on that

Hi

I fully understand that you don't life paying tax, but you also pay National Insurance if you or your partner ever want to claim your uk pension, you will never be albe to escape the tax man, and you will recive a tax bill with interest and penalty's at a time of life when you,re income will not be what it was. Don't forget that the tax that you pay in july is towards the 2009 bill also if you have not used your allowance you may be due a rebate.
Regards Mark
