Hi there, just want some info on electrical items. I know you can use adapters but are there any items that are really worth taking? would like to know what items to sell prior to going and what to take with us or is it cheaper to buy the lot when you are there. i won't be taking the smaller items but was thinking more of tv, dvd etc.

Hi Ash, if your getting a container i'd take the lot. Tvs come in handy for playstations, watching DVDs and vids even if it can't recive aussie tv which the newer ones can. Your fridge will get you through and will then be demoted to the garage for beer, meat, ice cream and beer. Buying again whith the cash you made from selling stuff which will be peanuts won't cover much. We shipped everything in good condition for 3.5 grand. Which won't go far when furnishing a 4 bed home with (QUALITY) goods. Hope this helps.
thanks for that info, will take most of it if it works out there. does everything have to be on an adapter, what is the voltage? or do we just change the plugs? 3.5k is good price for exporting house how long did it take for it to arrive?

10 weeks in transit, but then went into storage for 3 months as we sent it before house had sold. As for changing plugs bring about 8 4way strip adapters and change 8 plugs instead of 32.
