medicals and police checks

hi quick question
if i have police and medical checks how long do they last before they run out,
i was thinking of getting them done or do you have to wait till they are requested thanks martin c

Hiya its more a case of how quick you can move once the visa is granted!!lol,you are asked to enter Australia within 12mths of having your police checks or medicals(whichever was first),so if you had them done now(feb) and didnt get the visa till nov ,you wouldnt have long to sell the house etc to be here by Feb,,hope this helps a bit

so it's the date you have the meds/police checks done that counts, not the date you send the checks in im only asking because i had a mining accident in 1994 and i was going to find out if i would have a problem before applying for visa then if meds ok then start whole process thanks again

Police checks are changing they now cost £35 each and take 10 days to come back, the old £10 each and taking 40 days is being fazed out for immigration purposes.

Hi guys,

Very recently, it's just starting to filter through the forces. I did check with my agent and he said that if the force where you are is still doing the £10 check it should still be OK, however, he also said to be on the safe side better do the £35 check, so we are.

Hi Martin. Have you enquired about the meds yet? We phoned Sheffield and Notts. No waiting list and i think Notts works out slightly cheaper. Let me know if you want the numbers.
