The 3 Bears is on a distinguished road
The first few weeks???????

We are thinking that when we fly to OZ we will have to book into a hotel for the frist couple of weeks to get the lay of the land and try to find a rental. What did other people do??

If rentals are so thin on the ground is it realistic to think that a couple of weeks in a hotel will be enough time for us to get settled. We have a 3 year old to think about.

What are the alternatives??? ANy help very very welcome.

Hi,

When Ian goes over in April he is going to stay in a holiday let for the first month. They are cheaper than hotels and are full equipped apartments. We stayed in a few when we we there on holidy last year and thought they were great. It means that Ian will have everything he needs until our stuff arrives from the UK.

They're well worth looking into!

Lou

Hiya, we did 3 weeks in hotels/B&B's and were very lucky to find a rental which had just come onto the market - we failed to get 3 before it as we didn't have a history of renting (always owned our own home in the UK). There is an awful lot of competition out there for rentals with 3/4 people going for the same house!!!

As Lou says - I would try for a holiday let as the kids are back in school so there should be plenty available.

I think a lot depends on where you will be going though.
