Hi Nicky

I would suggest that you advise your friend to spealk with several Registered Migration Agents.

I have a friend in WA. I don't know exactly what her Hubby does, except that he works away from home a lot. He is very highly-paid, so he does not work as a "gas fitter" but I am told that this was the trade skill used in order to get him his visa. .

I've no idea how it works, hence I would suggest that your friend should ask some Agents.

Cheers

Gill

Hi there

My OH is a Corgi registered gas engineer. The OH has applied for a skilled visa as a plumber which is on the demand list. We got accepted on Christmas Eve 2007. Just need to prove plumbing qualifications or length of experience. They don't have central heating systems like we do here so the work will be a bit different to what your OH does here. You can do the visa application yourself (we did) as long as you don't mind doing all the research and leg work that goes with it but can save you a bit of money. My one tip is to shop around when it comes to your medicals as the doctors do charge different prices we save £100 each by phoning around and comparing prices.

Hope this helps.
