Hi Everyone,
We are on the very first rung of the emigration ladder. My husband, Andrew, is a wine merchant and we are hoping to emigrate to Victoria. He has a good contact, Garry Crittenden, in the Mornington Peninsula. Garry owns and runs Dromana Estate, I think some of the brands include 'I' range, nebbiolo etc and Geppetto. Anyway, thats where we're headed. We've completed a few online assessments, some say we pass, some say we don't - can anyone give us a bit more information on where to start. We're wary of paying money 'willy nilly' to Migration Experts. We need to choose one and progress. Who did anyone use right at the very beginning.
Please help us, we have about two years to make this move, Andrew is 43 in April. We'll be taking our two children Amy & Zachary with us, they're twins and they're 14 - I believe Amy has posted a couple of threads elsewhere. I think she wants someone to chat to
Thanks

Hiya welcome to poms in oz ,the two agents who always get good feedback are Visa Bureau and Go Matilda,i dont think you would go wrong with either. If you did fancy takling the paperwork yourselves just ask for their opinion on visa categorys, age ,skills etc.Good luck with everything its a stressful process but worth it in the end

Thanks for that Cal, I'll take a look at the Go Matilda one - that isn't one I'd heard of.
I see you were in Bury, we're just north of there, Barrowford, a village just outside of Burnley. How long have you been there ? How long did it take you to make the move ?

Yes its official Me and Cal are best mates, only because my Mums family are from Bury !! I see your from Barrowford ( or Boaraford as we called it as kids ) have you always lived there ? I lived in Barrowford since being 2 yrs old, I lived on Highfield crest, nr the school. My brother is keeping the house going now, he bought it off us which was great. We went with a company called Australian Emigration experts, they helped us from start to finish, basically if you qualify with a company they are not going to take your case on and waste time doing so if you eventually are not going to qualify to live here, make sure they are experts by asking for thier qualifications, our people were recommended by the Australian consulate, go to thier website and they have a list of emigration experts they recommend, that way you wont get ripped off.
Good luck .. I understand the rood bar is now an Indian and there is a supermareket where the old people's home was now ? I know you say its Victoria you want to go to , but if you change your minds and come to Sunny Brisbane ( where there is a winery on every corner ) Cal and Garys place is fantastic as a half way house, you wont beleive how much of a bind it can be with no help at all.
Cal helps with all the important but little things that can hold you back. Much recommended I must say...
