Hi
We flew over one way with Singapore Airlines in November and had a 4 day stopover with a great hotel. Total cost £1935 for 3 adults. Although we were allowed extra luggage allowance as we were migrating, we still managed to go over and they were really good about it and didnt charge us. We booked through Thomsons.

I flew back to UK recently with Cathay Pacific with my son and the cost of that was £2100 return.

Having flown with Cathay Pacific, Emirates. I still favour Singapore Airlines for value for money and good service.

Hi:)..it also makes a difference if you book a long time in advance..you get the cheapest seats the earlier you book..it can make a real difference..

Don't forget your bagage allowance as well!

Hi

We have just booked our one way flights with Cathay Pacific... for 1st March..YIPEEE!!!

one thing to remember is your baggage allowance..... this is what i found out this week:

1: Singapore Airlines offer 40kgs per person. on booking you need to state a migrating visa one way flight... and also ask for email confirmation of the extra allowance so to stop the excess from being charged... as ticket will not have extra on.

2: Emirates offer 40kgs... on booking, visa must be faxed to booking office to confirm permanent residency to allow extra baggage allowance when booking flight.... tickets are then issued with the 40kgs.

3: Qantas offer 30kgs... when booking you have to state the booking is a 'H Class' and show visas of residence

4: British Airways: until Nov 2008 BA will (according to their web site) accept a single piece of baggage up to 23kgs/51lbs to 32kgs/70lbs!!! with no extra charge

and finally

5: Cathay Pacific..... when I phoned them they were really helpful and because of the limited time we have, checked their availability whilst I was on the phone. They have booked us on their flight at a cost of £2609 inc tax. one way for 2 adults and 3 kids on their Migrant Fare. allowing us 40kgs per person... all I had to do this end was fax them a copy of our unstamped PR visa's.....

oh and Malaysian no longer offer extra allowance..

hope that helps

min x
