Help needed, TRA assesement tests

My husband is an electrician and needs to do a TRA test, we have nearly finished our references and hope to have them signed sealed and dilivered by end Jan,

Does any one know if Peter can do this test while there are looking at his TRA references and certificates or does it need to be passed and back with us first, Next test in london is in Feb and we would love to get to the next step.

Only 1 test every 2 months so we would have to wait till April

We are using an agent so we will be asking her but she is out of the office till Friday and when you have a question you want an awnser now, seeings how there are so many

Please help dont want to wait till Friday,

Thanks
TRAcey

I hope you aren't doing a TRA aplication as they no longer accept them - as from 31st Sep 2007.
The way for you now is through Vetasses. It is a practical test - pretty much like an AM2.
Obviously you still need all your qualifications and work experience info.

No sorry, keep getting confussed asto what things are called, skilled assesment is going through Vetasses.

Do you know if Peter can do the test before it comes through or do we have to wait until we have a passed skilled assesment, think we might miss Feb test otherwise

Thanks for your reply

Hi

Geoff has done the trade assessment under Vetassess and you have to wait for the paper assessment to be passed before the practical assessment can be done. When they send you the result of the paper assessment they also send you the forms for the practical assessment to be filled in and sent back. They were really quick in getting the paper assessment back though - less than two weeks. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!

Hi Tracey

No they don't tell you on the day, they send out a letter. Ours took about two weeks to come through. They then send you an offshore technical skills record (stil lwaiting for that!!)

We are heading to Perth, how about you?

Tracy

vetassess

Hi Traceyb37 how long after you sent the money for electrician practicals did they inform you they were going ahead, we are not sure when the next lot are going to be. OH is pretty nervous about them, but so would I. Thanks Shar

Shar

We had to wait a fair while. We got the paper assessment on 16th October and then we didn't find out until about 10 days before that the practicals were going ahead! I did bombard them with emails but it didn't get me anywhere! Patience is the key, apparently! Also, Geoff had nominated London as his preferred location, but they couldn't find anywhere to hold the assessments so he ended up going to Birmingham to do his.

Geoff was so anxious about them too, mind you all the pressure was on him to do well. If your over half wants any advice on the practicals, sned me a private message and I will send you our phone no if he wants to ring up for a chat. Geoff was convinced he had failed his, but luckily he was just being overly anxious. All the pressure is on me now as I have filled all the visa forms out myself. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything!!!!!
