Any tips on packing your own boxes?

We have found a local shipping agent who are very well priced but we have to pack our own boxes, which is what we wanted so we can do it bit by bit.

Has anyone else done this? We are not taking furniture with us so everything is quite small. So far I have 1 box packed with my fancy dinner set that only comes out at Xmas!!
I have wraped it in bubble wrap and packed around it with paper which seems to do the trick.

I know you have to write an itinery of all the things but how detailed does it have to be eg
6 dinner plates or 6 x 9ins dinner plates, white china with gold banding.

Any tips would be great.
Mandy

"detailed" intinary!

We packed everything ourselves and used all our bedding to package around china adn also shredded paper. Great for packing glasses in!

moving

Hi i was advised by a firend when it comes to packing make sure you use tea towels bedding towels etc rather than shredded paper as you are paying to take over newspaper if you get my drift
good luck with your packing
