No Eastenders?

I'VE BEEN READINGT ALOT OF THREADS WHERE PEOPLE SAY THE T.V IS RUBBISH.
WHAT SORT OF PROGRAMMES DO YOU GET OUT THERE? DO YOU NOT GET ANY OF OUR SOAPS OR DRAMAS, WHAT ABOUT FILMS AND KIDS T.V? PLEASE ADVISE.

Hi The TV isn't great and is like american tv with thousands of ads. Watching a film can take forever! That said we have just got Foxtel which has less channels than Sky but you can get UKtv which has Eastenders (about 6 months behind uk), Emmerdale (about 6 months behind) and Corrie (about 12 months behind) and more importantly soccer for the OH and my son! There are also things like the Bill etc. There are some kids tv programmes. To be honest we are hardly ever in to watch telly. It really is such a different lifestyle here, everyone lives outdoors. We are either out in the garden or at one of the many park/beach areas.

Ha - don't care if I NEVER see Eastenders again.. or any tv in general really - I could live without it!
However, I was mightily impressed that Qld got Californication before the UK did!!! :-D

I'm thinking once in oz I won't need to watch tv again, coz i'll be out by the pool or down the beach!! Even in Engalnd I go to bed early coz I can't be bothered about who gets together with who or who cheats on who or who even murders who!!! All I 'll be worried about is how much sun cream to put on in the morning!! Ahh Blisss!!!! Lisa xxxx

The T.V is not up to much in oz
but you do get a few good programs from the U.K & U.S

Stargate
House
The simpsons
Futurama
M.A.S.H

U.K
The Bill but this is a few months old
The Brief
Rose & Maloney
Executive stress
Parkinson

these are the only ones i can think of at the moment

but then why would you want to stay in door,s when the weather is so great over
in Australia.

I only watch the soaps here cause the weather is to c--p to go out , but over there i would be out all the time , there would be no time for tv. karen
