Which Pet carrier company to use

Hiya

Does anyone have any personal experience of pet carrier companies ... and who do they recommend?

We have had a few quotes and need to book very quickly now as the quarantine stations are filling up.

Any personal recommendations would be gratefully accepted.

Cheers

Annette, Michael and Ruby & Jessica Poodles

dogs

Our Labrador is flying out next week to perth, quarantine was fully booked, had to book 3 months advance. cant book quarantine until you have australian export permit whick took about 2 weeks. So dont expect a quick fix.

Hope this helps.

Sorry forgot to say we are using golden arrow tel:- 01588680240, they have been quite good, as our dog's blood test results came back positive and we kind of panicked, but they were very reassuring. Quoted us £ 2150.00 to take him out. They will apply of the oz export permit which is £150.00 but we had already got ours so not included in our quote.

Just remember if you get your pets vaccinated tell your vet you are going to take them to oz so they don’t have the vaccination with lepto as this shows up on their blood tests as it did with ours

We brought our Rottwieller out here and we used Airpets. They were great and sorted out all the forms for us through to phoning our vet for her blood test results to even collecting her and taking her to there kennells prior to departure!! There email address is airpets.com.

We used pinehawk kennels . Had quotes from others but they didnt fill me with any confidence. Andy on the other hand was professional and above all caring. The boys arrived in Melbourne fine and then stayed for 30 nights before a further flight by Jetpets to Tasmanoa all of this was sorted by Andy at Pinehawk. Nothing was too much trouble for him. They were fine and settled from the day they got here not bad as they had never been in kennels before. Good Luck

Hi Folks (Hi again Sally)

Thanks so much for your advice. I tried about 6 companies, to be honest the only one that really inspired me was PetAir UK ... so we are using them. I've explained it all to the girls, they seem suitably unimpressed, really only care where the next cuddle is from.... It's a dog's life!

Hi we used Pets on the Move because they had a local franchise. They were excellent, picked up our cat from our home and took her to the airport the next day. I don't know about other stations but Byford isn't terribly big, when we enquired in August last year the first available date was mid December

Hi,

We used Jet Pets to fly our labrador to Melbourne. We had no problems but could only communicate with the agent inAustralia via email which was a bit frustrating. However, they picked her up from our home and she was delivered safe and sound.Survived quarantine fine( the quarantine kennels were great) and is enjoying her life Downunder.
