Medicare

Hi this is proberly a silly question but is everyone that moves to oz intitiled to medicare . I read in a magazine that on certain visas you have to pay for private medical insurance . Were going on a skilled visa ........ thanks karen

Skilled visa are covered by medicare so dont worry,Rule of thumb seems to be leave it 5 days after arrival and go and register with them,you will need an adress thou.The medicare card is often asked for as ID ,so is handy to have when your new.Hope this helps a bit
