Hi Tony
We bank with firstdirect and all I did was phone them - the money order was send the following day to me by post! Any bank should do you an Australian Dollar money order - We had our made out to "Collector of Public Monies -DEWR" - Bank charge of £10 -hope that helps!!

Hi, when I did mine, I just went to Barclays - they gave me a form which I filled in over the counter, although this woman did help me fill it out, and I had to wait either 1 or 2 days for it to be delivered from their offices in London (she also advised getting it delivered to the branch rather than your address and their post arrives quicker!). I've also found out Halifax do them too, as I know someone who works there.
Hope that helps?

Hi Tony, just had the same problem as such...Went to my bank which is the halifax and had to order it , it took a week for it to turn up: i only just got it yesterday and sent it straight away to my agent However, should i have done my homework a bit better before trusting my useless bank, i would have found out that HIFX 01753 859159 can do it for you (you will need to open an account with them but it is a good idea anyway because when you get your visas, they can help you transfer money to oz probably a lot quicker and also a lot cheaper than a bank would...)they can send it directly to your agent and they should get it the next day! I also found out that if you are with HSBC bank, they can issue one for you on the day but you need to have an account with them. Hope this helps, I know how you feel because i was pulling my hair yesterday trying to find alternative just in case the bloody thing had not turned up... We are all in a hurry to get the application on time before september 1.. good luck, Magali

Hi again Tony! Try HIFX now, I rang them yesterday morning and the girl i spoke to was very nice and understanding: i had to have a plan B just in case that draft wasn't in the post. Where are you planning on going in oz once you get your visas ( positive attitude! WE WILL GET THERE!! Eventually) We are from York by the way and hubby is a joiner, We are looking to go to Brisbane towards the end of next year oct. or nov.:we have 3 kids and i want the oldest 2 to start school at the beginning of a new school year like everybody else...let me know how it goes!!
