Thumbs up Kids EH!!

Any one worrying about telling your Children you're taking the plunge to Oz , my advice is to tell them asap cos then they can adapt to the idea
Anyone who has read my post will know i've been thro' a rollercoaster of emotions with mine
One day they're all for it , the next its ith "O" word
BUT now my eldest who's 13 now, HAS accepted it & will talk about moving as though it's not an unmentionable subject
Even the house being sold is accepted(maybe not approved )
Good luck cos most of us want to do this for the future of them!!
Michele xx
I still say better to have failed trying than never to have tried at all!
You can regret the things you've done in life but you cannot regret the things you havcn't

Hi michele
can absolutely relate to telling the kids its tough. we moved here 1 1/2 ago to Perth. after excitment, a few dramas, tears ect our 14 year old finally came around to the whole idea. settled in perth only to move again to the othersde of OZ to melbourne.possibly making us the most unpopular parents on the planet! no easy way to do it.. just gotta do it All i can say now is thank god for the internet..how did people keep in touch before SKYPE?
Good luck
Donna

Nicki Kefford is an unknown quantity at this point
Can relate to you both!! Our eldest daughter (11) is half and half but youngest daughter (9) is upset at leaving her friends although moving to middle school (3 tier here) and familiar friends will change anyway. We have never been so that probably doesn't help but have decided to GO FOR IT!!!! anyway.

We've told them to look on it as a great adventure holiday and thet if we don't settle, we'll think of something else!!
Hope you don't mind me asking Donna, but why did you move from Perth?

P.S have your young ones joined the younger forum? That did help the eldest and now she goes on MSN with one of her friends from there. Its just a shame that they're going to Brisbane, not Perth but at least she has someone she can relate to fo the same age and in the same position.

Nicki
