Mindarie or Secret Harbour

Please could anyone give us some advise on these two places we are keen to live in either but don't know too much about them. I know one is NOR and the other is SOR, we are not really bothered about commuting times so that is not an issue.

A big thank you in advance for all replies greatly appreciated.

Hi alfixie,

Just joined PiO and spotted your post about Secret Harbour.

Been in Oz for exactly one year (hurray!!!) and have been living in SH since September - absolutely loving it. It's a quickly developing community - shopping centre opend at Christmas, new pool opening later in the year and a pub coming along in 2008. Haven't got any kids ourselves but have heard good reports about the primary schools and the new high school that's just opened. It's handy being right between Rockingham & Mandurah as this opens up loads of shopping/ entertainment opportunities and Perth is only 45-50 mins away if you need to get up ther for work. As it's still a very new and sometimes a little 'clinical' the local community groups make a real effort to get a community feel about the place... loads of concerts/festivals on the Oval and plenty happening at the community centre. Oh yeah.... the beach and golf course are FANTASTIC!

Drawbacks of SH.... It's windy, windy, windy..... you have to weigh down your tinnies to make sure they don't blow off the table. It's quiet: the place goes to sleep at about 7:00pm.

I suppose all this holds true for a lot of the new suburbs.

Hope this helps,
Neal
