My husband is very keen to buy a boat and get out on the high seas off Fremantle and catch the biggest fish that then got away!!!! However he would like to know whether a boat purchased over there would require a sea worthiness certificate as he has been told is required in the UK. We know boats and trailers are registered in Oz but we would like to know any other requirements needed to become a boat owner. Also has anyone got any ideas of what type of boat, ie size and design, would be suitable for going to Rotto for an overnight stay (on the boat that is, not the island!).
