Hello everyone
We hope someone can answer our question. Bradley is self employed and we are not using an agent. We are trying to get together all the info for the TRA and almost finished now, my dilema is this. On the TRA form, how much detail do you have to give with regards to tools/machinery/equipment used. Do they require you to list hand tools such as spanners, hack-saw, spirit levels etc etc or are they looking for more plumber related tools not general ones? And how much detail did you all give about the tasks and duties performed? If we break Bradleys tasks performed down and write a paragraph on each we would have pages and pages. It is hard to know what's expected, hopefully someone can tell us.

Hi there Tracy,
Put every single tool your hubby ever used in his line of work if that means pages and pages then write pages of it as the more info you give them the better They require you to list all the tools and explain what they were used for
Hope this helps you
Billy
Thanks for that Billy, we'll do just that then. I'm sure they don't even read most of what is supplied, we've found we just keep repeating the same thing on different areas of the application. When you're self employed there is an awful lot to supply.

I suppose this is the longest part and most difficult for the old brain! We'll just elaborate a bit more on everything then.

I've just e-mailed Question 8 of the application off to my agent this morning to have a butchers over. The font size was 11 and in total was over 15 pages long.
Most people tell you to write as much as you can about your trade, what you've done, what tools you've used etc, but its so easy to go on and on and on and on and on and bore the pants off everyone who'd ever be brave enough to read it. It may be the case that the individuals who do read over it, just look to see if certain phrases or 'buzz words' are included.
I know one thing tho', If my application fails over Q8, it'll be because I've bored the poor bugger to death and not thru' lack of info.
Hi Tracey
I did reply to your PM lovey........
Hurry up and get that TRA done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very funny Scarletfever!
It's very true but I'm sure they'll take one look at all those pages and think you must be a real anorak and completely dedicated to your profession to want to write all that....and obviously pass you! either that or they'll think you're a right saddo who needs to get a life (in oz of course) and pass you for that reason. That's made my mind up, we're going to do a 'scarletfever' and try to bore the pants off them so we get a pass!
Sally-ann
Thanks for your PM, helpful as ever. Why would I want an agent when I have you for free! I'll pay you with glasses of wine on our night out in Mornington!
I must admit I feel abit of a saddo at the moment, I just realised that I am now a senior member, even though we haven't even put in the TRA yet! At least it shows what a good researcher I am!

Boring would be the last thing you are if you possess enough umph (can't think of a better word) to move to Australia!
Mind you, we must all be a little boring to keep coming "on this here forum!!"
