Wink Any single parents??

Just wondering if this whole life changing adventure is do-able as a single parent. i don't want to go too deeply into things but it is something that I have been wondering about. I'm sure it's perfectly possible!

Any advice or experiences welcomed.
Thanks,
miss v. x

Hi, thanks for the welcome your replies. I know that in theoretical terms you can emigrate as a single parent, providing you have the skills, finances etc. I just wondered if there was anyone out there who has done/is doing/or knows of anyone who has done it. Wondering what was particularly difficult to cope with. I especially wonder how you would find it in a new country, knowing absolutely noone and nothing! All seems rather daunting but I know it can be done.
Cheers,
miss v x

Hi

i am 27 yrs old with two kids aged 7 and 8 and also a single parent. i was on hols in Oz and was offered a job on a 457 visa, acceoeted and I am moving to melbourne in 3 weeks.!! i dont have any savings etc and going on a wing and a prayer but have been through worse.......

if you beleive enough you can make anything happen so dont be scared of following any dream.. lifes too short.

Go for IT. You will give ure kids a good life its easy to meet people if you try and you can always come back.

im nervous but excited but I beleive It will all work out

My Mood:
Impatient will become famous soon enough
Girls, good luck to both of you going as single parents. You can only play with the hand of cards that life has dealt you, no reason at all you can't do that somewhere else.

Stay in touch on here if you don't know anyone where you are going and we will do our best to perk you up!

Take care

Hi ther,
would like to go to Brisbane/Gold coast area. have a friend in Gold cost and a friend heading for Brisbane. Still not sure if i've got the guts to go it alone . Would like to think so tho. I just think it would be very lonely when you have your down days. my son is 15 so will be off to uni in a few years, leaving me all alone boo hoo. That is unless I meet a fab aussy hunk

bobbie999 is on a distinguished road
Im sorry about the late reply, im a new member and only just caught up with your post. Im a single parent of one, my little boy is almost 8 and we are heading for Brisbane as soon as i get my visa. Im waiting for my skills assessment at the moment but have already registered in Queensland as a nurse. It is a scary journey but im more excited than anything else, as is Charlie. Its always been my dream to return after a backpacking holiday ten years ago and at last its happening, anything is possible!!!
