whilst sitting next to my swimming pool and outside bar up in the Adelaide hills, I was just thinking is England such a bad place? I have decided there are a lot worst places you could be like...Melbourne for a start.

Must agree Fat boy ,,i had the same thoughts only yesterday whilst 'bathing' on surfers paradise beach and watching the kids play in the golden sand !!!!
Read Johnd's post in migration issues if you are in any doubt!
BTW I live in Melbourne and have just spent the day laying on a beautiful beach with the scorching sun shining down on me sharing a glass of wine with 3 very good friends who I didn't even know a few months back and I wouldn't swap it for anything.

me thinks you are taking the mick as you sit next to the pool drinking from your outside bar.
I am busy getting ready my house ready to go on the market so I can to endure and tolerate the lifestyle that you have.
On the down side not a mile from where I live in Newcastle a 17 year old lad who my son knows has been stabbed and murdered last week I think that may answer your question as to whether England is that bad.
I know Oz won't be a bed of roses but with all the pressure thats on our kids in this country I am hoping Austalia will give them some light relief from all that.
My 17 year old nephew could not cope with the pressure, unfortunately he killed himself, it certainly made us reassess what kind of life and future that Australia may offer our kids and hopefully not as stressful.
Seems like a lot of young people nowadays feel despair. As mums, dads, etc we all want the best life possible for our youngsters don't we, that's why we're doing this.
Am also getting house ready for market too.
Cheers,
Rachel

Wow Kaye, that's awful. I mean truly awful. Such young boys....words fail me (and that doesn't often happen!). So sad.
I popped back to Tonbridge a couple of months ago, and I was surprised how young my 14yo seems in comparison to the friends she left behind. One of her friends has a gone-all-the-way type relationship with his girlfriend!!!I was sooo shocked! And sad -although that might have been cos it made me feel old!
Kids are all different, as are places but I really do feel that kids age slowly over here. Well, SA anyhow. They just seem a little more courteous, a little less sussed, and a little more naive. Which is what we hoped for!
Oh and FBF, one of my bestest friends lives in Melbourne, so how very dare you! No, wait a sec, you are right!
