Is England such a bad place? Well I think it depends whether you are happy with your lot, or not. How does the old saying go? "One man's meat is another man's poison". Me and Neil were talking about this only last night. We were child free for the evening so decided, as it was warm, we would go for a walk and call for a drink (or three)! We don't go out often. Neil works continental shifts, so weekends together are few and far between but we'd both got today off (hence the bloody weather!!). We've lived here just shy of 2 years but been so busy renovating the house we've never really explored the area. There aren't many pubs round here with beer gardens and the nearest one is about 20 to 30 mins walk depending on what shoes I'm wearing. Last night I had my 25 minute shoes on (the girls will know what I mean). We decided to go a way we'd never been before and it took us through a nearby housing estate. OH MY GOD!! I never realised places like that existed and certainly had no idea they existed so near to us!!! Half dressed children roaming the street, cars parked up with music blaring out and engines revving, multiple piles of dog muck, and for some reason, no pavements!! We came across gardens that were piled high with heaps of junk, kids talking about how many bottles of Bud they were going to be having later, a block of flats with tvs, videos, cabinets, settees, ironing boards, etc, just all smashed in a heap outside. I saw words I never knew existed written on fences and walls. Well it provided us with plenty to talk about once we made it to the pub. We came to the conclusion that yes, we have on the whole been happy here, but that's down to us I think really just making the most of whats on offer here. But what I saw last night really shocked me. We moved here primarily because the secondary school had a good reputation and was also a sports college. Realised last night though that the kids from that estate will also go to that school - scary thought. So, when we do finally leave here I don't think we'll slag it off but we'll probably breathe a huge sigh of relief that we were able to do something about it. I just feel a bit sorry for those people who don't have a choice.

Tracey x

Bless Yeah Fat Boy Fat, There you were enjoying the swimming pool, bar etc and thought you would just share it all with us here!! and BOOM you got us all going (LOL)

My turn...
We had a robbery at work early hours Tuesday morning (bank holiday and weekend takings was the aim!) anyway we are open to the public so the Police came in to do a bit of investigation, later that day they popped back again just to clarify some details. Anyway I was working the reception area and this customer came to reception in and in front of the Policeman starting swearing, ranting and raving (as a member of staff would not let her little angel go into an area where she was not allowed), anyway this customer shouts that she is going to slap our member of staff for picking on her child!! Well I couldn;t believe it and all in front of the Policeman. The customer went walking off into our diner area and I looked at the Policeman and said "How aggresive is she, I may need your support here", he replied "I know what you mean, thats what people are like now" - and left the building!!!!!!

Bottom line was where was her respect for herself and for the Policeman, she was not bothered and to threaten in front of a Policeman (I was gobsmacked), and the policeman well i don't know their policies and rules etc.. But Come on England, would be a lovely place if we could restore the LAW AND ORDER back into it.

Made me realise i'm better of Out of Here!!

with regardsx
