For those of you that are already in Brisbane - has anybody got any info on what the Wesley Hospital is like, especially maternity.

Also, any info on good areas to live in Brisbane.

Cant help with info on Wesley Hospital but l can recommend a good guide book on where to live in Brissie (one available on Gold Coast too which is where we are heading). Its called 'Where to Live Guides - Brisbane' available from Consyl publishing tel 01424 223111 or look on www.australian-outlook.co.uk. Really good book gives details of loads of suburbs, housing, schools, distances, population types etc.

I am an RN and work for WESLEY mission Brisbane! I cant speak for maternity but I was in for day surgery in the Wesley and have had to see a neurologist & a surgeon there and cannot fault it.

Hi Tracy,

Don't know much about Wesley except it is considered a really good hospital among the 'locals'. I have got a job there as a midwife, so hope it's o.k. We have relatives on the gold coast, so looking forward to using my qualification to spend some time with them in oz.
Are you going to be working at the Wesley?
