Medicals validity.....HELP!!!!

Hi there,
I am a bit confused...
My OH works at stansted airport, so when i looked at the list for panel doctors I was really pleased that there is one on site at the airport. My OH has just spoken to them about medicals and they have given us a price of £560.00 for everything, and only a 2 week waiting period. THIS is fantastic, BUT they told him that the medicals are only valid for 3 months!!! is this normal? if so they would probably be out of date by the time we have our CO. I also read somewhere on this forum that your visa is only valid for 12 months after you med or police check...whichever is first.

can someone shed some light please?

Kim

Hi

Sorry Kim I cannot answer your query but I just wondered how strict they are with weight? Have you got to be bang on target for your height, what about overweight/underweight?

hi wendy, it may be worth having a read of Parsonsbigadventure thread "medicals" she has asked a similar question, hopefully you will get your answer there. I am sure its not such a big thing unless it is hiding other problems
Regards Kim

Hi Kim

I spoke with the lady in the Australian High Commission who said all official panel doctors medicals are valid for 12 months. We booked and got our Meds done within a few days and the total cost for 2 adults and 3 children aged 14, 12 and 7 was £406. They were not terribly bothered about weight height etc. Got our results same day and they were sent via the High Commision 2 days later.

Hope this helps a little, Sarah.

Hi kim
You have 12 months to validate you visa, from the date on you medical.Say if your medical
was done on the 25 march and you had you visa on the 30 sept. you have to validate your
on the 25th march 2008.I f that makes much sence.

Also about weight they are not so bothered about being over/under weight providing you haven't got other issues eg high blood pressure, heart probs etc.

Hi kim
have you been sent for your medicals?
If so this shouldnt be a problem as they are sent off in about 14 days after meds.

If you have been asked to furnish a health undertaking, your initial entry date will be 6 months from the date of your medicals.

we have not been requested our meds but were considering pre loading them since the ALTS changes say that we can get them in advance now.

this would be fine if they were valid for 12 months but not if they were only valid for 3 months any further feedback would be appreciated
