Cancelling your TV licence

Don't forget if you pay by direct debit you pay 6 months in advance and 6 months in arrears. Time it right and you can just cancel your direct debit and ring them to cancel the licence, thus avoiding the palaver of filling out a form and sending them a copy of your flight ticket so that they may (and I quote) "consider" giving you a refund for the unused portion of the licence.

I certainly won't be missing the TV licensing hoons.

Always makes me laugh, Aussies are absolutely astounded that we have to get a licence to watch telly. They just don't believe it, took me ages to convince my mates. They thought I was taking the mick

When i cancelled mine they were very helpful & yes we got a refund too,
if they ever introduced anything like the tv licence in oz everyone would throw their tvs away Its ABSOLUTLEY AWFUL VIEWING make the most of tv while you are in the UK

Apparently on UK TV which is part of foxtel package. Get the Bill, midsummer murders on ordinary tv - we're getting foxtel 'cos it's pretty dire!!

We are during the day... but in the evening have a relaxing glass of wine and watch rubbish. Actually on a serious note, there doesn't seem to be a watershed here, we used to like settling down together as a family to watch something at 8pm, quite oftern we have to turn over 'cos it's not suitable for our 7 year old.
