Hi, Just spoke to a lovely lady from PETS ON THE MOVE . She has quoted for both our dogs Baily - german shepherd and Lucy - Lurcher £3000.00 for everything !!!! :)
I thought it was going to be about 6000.00.
Her cost is door to door.
She is sending me a letter to confirm.
I got her name from Ali who said she used them for her cat. Thanks Ali.
Will let you know more when i find out.
PS I had read that there was a 5 month waiting list for quarantine in Aus but she said that Sydney was the largest and space there is fine.:)
The service from Pets on the move was really good, the lady who collected our cat Becky knew it would be emotional for us and just took over and got her in the carrier etc. We sent a cushion with her that had smells from home!! and that was still with her at quarentine and hadn't been lost or misplaced. Odd as it may sound, this really made me feel better that they knew it was important. They took Becky for the vet check (to get the certificate for the flight) and took her to the airport.
We felt it was a really personal service and that our cat would be treated as part of our family. I know Byford quarantine isn't as big as Sydney so you need to book early.

HI, Msg for Ali
Can you please let me know how much it cost to take your cat, as the service you received sounds really good so it would be good to use these people. We have 2 cats to take and dreading the price!!
thanks
£1,300 with Pets on the move, they sorted everything out, picked her up at our home, took her to the vet for her clearance certificate, gave her stuff against ticks etc., took her to manchester airport for her flight to Heathrow then Perth (only the best airlines for becky she flew with BA and Quantas!!), Byford (in perth) were terrific and she was really well looked after.

Thanks Ali, I will give pets on the move a call on Monday. A lot of our friends are saying it would be cruel to take our cats because of the weather that they are not used too (neither are we though!) and snakes etc...
I know we like to know how us humans are getting on, but us that have pets love them too, so can I please ask how Becky is getting on in Australia? And did she seem happy and well after her journey? How long before you were reunited with Becky?
Thanks for the info its really appreciated
Becky has been fine and she's 15 years old!! We did take her to the vet in Uk and ask his opinion, he said she was healthy and should be fine. The only difference is she probably drinks more water here than she did before, she's' found cool places to lie in. We arrived in summer and we've had a few days where it's been over 40 degrees whilst we've been here, and Becky has survived those.
