not sure if any of this would work, but wanted to put my say in!! hehehe!

someone will come up with a really good pice of advice now and mine will look really pathetic!

Use this for flat screens only .......

Get a piece of plywood cut to the same size as the screen.
Get a roll of pallet wrap (ebay, industrial supply type places etc)
Get a suitable size box
Foam type packaging material

Wrap some pallet wrap around the plywood first to pad it out a bit.
now get a grown up to help you.

place the now padded out plywood sheet over the screen, and GENTLY hold against the screen while your assistant starts wrapping the pallet wrap around the TV, plywood must be held against the screen.keep wrapping until you are happy you have enough padding.

you can then place inside the box,and fill with packing material.
this should stop the screen getting damaged/smashed/having something move in the container and being shoved thru it ........

Hi

The shipping company pack the tv's into special crates, they told me they'll be safe as houses, so they should be for the amount they charge you.

I was told plasma screens need to be kept upright, and not laid flat for lengthy periods of time
Should be in gods (sorry good) hands with any reputable shipping company

Hi Guys

We brought our Flat screen over, but sorry to say that it did not work over here . Due to some difference in the frequency or something like that, sorry not very technical. However the removals men did us a big favour as they dropped it and smashed it (we didn't trip them over, honestly) . Therefore we claimed for a new one over here which works . Perhaps someone may know of the technical stuff as to why English TV's don't really work over here. They work alright until you try and connect them to an aerial.

Hi Kim
We brought over 2 lcd tv´s one large and one small - they were packed in seperate boxes one with a single quilt and one a double quilt and then surronded by cushions - they must be kept upright, mark lots of arrows on the box and state FRAGILE in bright large letters and point it out to the removal men too
