Aah, bisto...

I've joined this forum because I desperately need help. Not psychological assistance, but something that is very real to me. And I'm not joking.

I love life here, but am thinking of going back. I can't stand it any longer and I'm not even a Northener..I'm finding it seriously difficult to live without Bisto. My husband has told me that if I don't find some soon he might go back to his mum. Other brands just don't taste the $"($^*) same, they're just $%i!.

Thanks,
L.C.

Dear LC

You can find Bisto at some of the shops that sell English sweets, etc.. I would hate for your marriage to end over lumpy gravy. Do not despair I still have family in the UK and I am sure I could get one of them to send you a life time supply of Bisto. Bye the way have you got Tourettes syndrome or are you really that devastated at the lack of smooth brown juicy gravy over here?

Where abouts in OZ are you?

Bye for now
TinB

Dear Gizmo

That is such a good site, thank you. I am sure as we speak LC is running out to the shops to save her marriage with her wooden spoon in hand.

You are both so kind. You have given my heartless husband a reason to come home again.

No TinB, I have not got £^%&*6) Tourette's, which is a very serious condition.

I know that LC but I just wanted to know the depth of your despair over the lack of your gravy. If it makes you feel better I will find you some Bisto and post it to you, PM me and we'll talk tactics.

LC where do you live? I've just seen bisto in Farmer Jacks in Leeming Perth - they sell oxo too.

Hi, I have seen shops around that sell English goods so perhaps you could try one of those? I suffered withdrawal symptoms from brown pickles when I first came out as over here it isn't as popular as yellow. Eventually I found it in my local Coles but had to pay and arm and a leg for Branston compared to England (used to buy Tesco's own brand!) Whilst we're on the subject of food......does anyone else find some of the stuff here so sweet? I am talking about peanut butter, salad dressing and I even bought a tin of beetroot a few weeks ago that was so sickly sweet I had to throw it away!!! Having had my pommy whinge.....I do have to say that generally speaking I think food over here is far better quality and so much fresher!!!
