Hi Becky,
Im sorry to say, that I dont think it matters how much money you have, if you are not on the skills wanted list they dont want you. There is a post on this forum by immy who was rejected even though he had a million pounds to take with him and his wife was a teacher!Unless your friends have family over there I dont about any other ways, but i am sure one of the experts on here will be able to help you.

Hi Becky

In some circumstances, money can talk with these visas, it seems. If your friends own and have been running a viable business, and they have plenty of loot, they might be eligible for an Investor Visa. I know nothing about this visa except what it says on the "postcards". I don't know what any of the expressions used really mean.

If your friends think they might be able to meet the basic criteria (loot + business experience as far as I can work out) their best bet might be to talk with Alan Collett of Go Matilda, since he is a Chartered Accountant in both jurisdictions as well as a Registered Migration Agent.

The visa is here:

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/business/165/index.htm

Cheers

Gill

Hi Becky,
There may be a way in but you would have to check it all out throughly, we have some friends in the uk who are in the process of coming into oz on a business plan, they are being sponsored by perth business department(im not sure of the exact name) and going to start a new business here in perth, nothing to do with what they have done in the uk - they have a fair bit of money & found this was there only way to go as not on the skills list.
Best check with a migration agent and also look at www.immi.gov.au
best of luck
