This bloody emigrating thing is a rollercoaster is'nt it??
Michaels cousin rang from OZ this morning. She works in her family's company as office manager. She told him that the reason her Mam & Dad were unable to commit to the 2 years employment for him was due to there not being a position to slot him in. Only she has now said that she wants to go traveling at the end of the year (she spent 18mths in UK & Europe couple years ago) and hadnt got the courage to tell her mam as yet as didnt want to let her down as there is no-one else to do her job there.
So.........that means that there would be a position as such to fill later in the year and that her folks would be more than happy for him to do it!! Cant beleive it!
Only thing we have to go now is convince immigration that he's the one for the job and no-one else in Oz is! (I knew there'd be a catch)!. We are going to have to make sure that there company fit the criteria to be a sponsor as they as only a small business.
O well things looking a little brighter than yesterday. I'm not even annoyed about all this snow
Emmmmm great news, I think Jenny has started a craze :)
I do hope it all works out, we will all write and tell immigration that he is perfect for the job if it helps ..
Im so pleased for you Em - hope it all works out and then you can set up your own beauty salon and sponsor me so that we can get in too xxxxxxxxxxxxx  :)
Thanks Jo that would be fab! Chelle, no probs hun when I got my little nail bar in Surfers I'll rememeber how fab you have been. I'd let us lot in no problem, we're no bother.
Great News Em go for it. Everything is looking up.
Guess What I didn't go to bed until about 2.00 this morning after filling in the "This is Australia" application form, so I was still in quite a deep sleep when OH handed me the phone at 7.15 this morning and it was a very nice Australian man from "This is Australia" agency. THAT WOKE ME UP !!!!
He said I had given him all the right info and that he would send me a application form to get paul on the bricklaying for July, which I have now got. I have to fill it in and send a copy of pauls passport back page. He said he would get that in but he was also going to talk to some people who may be able to get paul sponsored!!!! He did say not to get our hopes up just yet but he was going to do some digging.
How could we not get our hopes up, this is the first bit of positive that we have had.
Only trouble is Paul has had to go up to a funeral in Manchester and is not back until Thursday as we could have done with talking about it some more, but in the rush this morning we decided that we think we will go for it.
Another big suprise is that if it is Nambour college which it seems to be, it is only 27km from where pauls nan and grandad and uncle live, I couldn't beleive it . We had not cared where we went in Australia and expected it to be Perth side and even when i new nambour was in queensland i still hadn't realised who close. If we do go pauls mum will be so pleased as she goes over to see her parents every year and has just come back and said it was so upsetting to leave them as they are getting old and frail (They are in their 80's) So if we were there we could keep an eye on them. Also pauls uncle may be able to help with accomodation in advance. I'm running away with myself now.
Anyway will sign on later as children need to get ready for bed etc. I seem to be on the computer constantly!!
Heather, the agent was really thankful you gave their name and i have told him there are loads of us here. So Heather might see you there yet. Also my son who was 11 in December was quite pleased when i told him about you and your family, especially you son of nearly the same age.
I'm really going now - see you later
yvonne
Wow Yvonne, way to go......cant believe all that happened in the space of one night!!! Well we feel so much more positive at the moment (no doubt something will come along to spoil that) but at the moment its
We have been in touch with the agent who is going to proceed to set up their company as a sponsor and see what happens from there.
