My brother origionally settled in Brighton/Sandgate are of Brissy and then moved to Redcliffe - they looked nice areas when we visited and I know he's been happy in both places. They have a young family. When we visited it was about an hour on the train into the city which was reasonably priced and also included using the river cat in the city. It was handy for the gold & sunshine coasts too. I think Brighton is classed as Moreton Bay area (but I'm not sure on this).

Hi

Stick to the city centres (base - your from London be used to traffic and transport) with a Mecure / Accor brand hotel (med range and reasonable, transport is good and hiring a car easy from the airports or city office locations.

Use the following tourism sites :

Brisbane : http://www.qttc.com.au/
Sydney : http://www.tourism.nsw.gov.au/home/
Adelaide : http://www.southaustralia.com/home.asp

I hope this helps - let me know if you need more help.

Kind regards

Chris
