hi there, i am hopeful;ly moving over to oz to go for a couple of years. i looked into taking my horse with me, and got quotes from around £7500. i think it takes about 40 days to ship them, with short quarantines either end. You can also put them on a ferry which i think takes about 6 weeks in transit - i didn't get prices for this though (I have seen the black stallion film!!).
i decided that it wasn't worth it for me, as i wil be coming back.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

I dont know about the cost of a horse I'm afraid.

Regarding your jobs and whether they are needed have you talked to an agent? Even if you decide to do the process yourselves it is probably worth getting some advice from one. Most agents will offer you a free consultation where you can discuss visa's applicable etc.

Good luck to all of you just starting this journey!

Lou

Hiya i dont think youd have a problem with jobs in your line of work,im in aged care and got the first job i applied for ,bringing the horse may well be an extorinate cost,we live in Jimboomba,Beaudesert which is known as the horsey capital of Brisbane, everyone has them ,theres loads of riding and racing stables along with numerous pony clubs ,You really would be better trying to get her to part with it and buy one here but i know thats easier said than done, they actually give them away here sometimes.good luck

Hi Gill
Could be forgetting about the horse it is going to cost us lots of money, love her but not that much Ha Ha.We are still only looking into it.My sister is on the last stages of getting her visa. She went through an agent, but it was expensive doing it this way and my husbands cousin is there now, just went over a month ago.I'm just sick of this weather and working all the time for what seems most days for nothing.
We will have to keep in touch and let each other no what we decide.
Where do you live in the uk,we live in a little place called Hambelton near Blackpool.
