Getting an aussie driving licence

I haven't updated my current address on my UK driving licence. Can anyone tell me whether this will matter when I apply for an australian one and is it easy enough to do? Just send meds etc off so hoping it won't be too much longer now!

As long as you licence is still valid ,your adress wont matter,you will be able to do a straight swap for a Qld licence ,but you do have to pay a fee,,hope this helps

Is there some sort of test/exam to take for driving in Queensland

Hi It must vary from state to state as i arrived in New South Wales Aug 06 and i didnt een have to show my english licence all i had to do was prove an address of where i was staying in Australia, also i didnt have to take a test either. Happy driving

Hi...not any more..they used to have a multiple choice test but that changed in Dec 06.

just got to your local rta have a pic taken and give your paperwork in (proof of address) and pay your money fo 1 year licence or 5 years and thats all there is to it (in nsw any way)

its the same in Queensland now too ,straight swap and a few quid ,job done ,its also good for id at banks etc as it has photo and adress,sooner you get it the better although you are able to drive on your english one for a few month.
