Hi guy's, We were wondering if anyone had any info relating to the agents used in the show on BBC1 Wanted down Under?? The show featured some great properties in 2 cities we are interested in setting up, Brisbane and Adelaide but no name or credits were given to the agents either during the show or in the titles. I sent 2 E-mails to the BBC but got no reply. We're off to Aus in April, and it would be great to see if those houses they featured are true or not, so far I can't find a 6 bedroom new home in Brisbane brand new of such luxury for the price shown in the series AUS$500,000. This was in the episode featuring a family in the name of Mr and Mrs Warner, the lady was a teacher, seemed a really nice family. Who is the agent, in the film the guy was a grey haired fella in his 50's, and I would sure like to meet him. Any help or info would be great
I think I know the one......did the eldest daughter not want to go?
I've come across a few lovely houses on real estate which look great, but are usually over $500,000. and not more than 4 bedrooms. I think the houses they showed were in Surfers Paradise so I'd be interested to find out where they sent them!!
I'm afraid I dont know the agents used on the shows, however on another thread Cal N gary, who were on the show, said it was shot last year (in March I think). I know house prices have increased an awful lot over recent years, so maybe this is one of the reasons you are not finding them on the net now.
I'm sure if anyone else knows anymore they will let you know.

Ye thats right ,we filmed last March so prices have gone up abit we noticed that when we arrived in November .The agents they used were just normal estate agents ,the problem you may find when in the UK is they dont respond to e-mails much till your here. You would probably find the propertys shown are no longer on the market as they seem to sell quite quickly ,from our experience we have come across lots of similar propertys so you shouldnt struggle finding a similar one.I think it was the Oz researchers that sorted that side of things out which is why the bbc may not have replied, and a little bit of info i have got is they are trying to secure a follow up series which would be good ,will keep you all informed

Oh I do like you....I am the teacher lady! Thanks for saying nice things about us! Our eldest, Emily was nervous about going but the second week we were there, we went to Surfers Paradise and the sight of all those surfers was too much for her. She loved it and is now much much happier about going. Just as well really as the visa has just been approved!
We were taken just south of Brisbane to an area near Beenleigh. There was a display village, I think at Loganholme, no more than 30 mins from the northern suburbs which is where we were actually staying. We did our filming in August so hopefully prices haven't changed that much. The bloke was called Peter something (I will try to get his name for you) and he was a representative of the Australian Builders Federation/ Association. They build these display villages and it is sort of like a house supermarket - you choose the one you like and they will build it for you where you like. That is what the house costs, not the house and the land. You can, if available, buy the house on the display village and then the builders rent it back from you for about 3 years (I think) at market value.
Someone else who went with us liked the property down at Coomera Springs which is a development near Upper Coomera.
Hi, and a Big thank you to all who have sent us a reply. We have taken note of all you say. Above all, a big thanks to Libby, we never thought we'd be lucky enough to get the info we wanted from the actual folks involved in the show, so again Thanks Libby and good luck to you and your family, congrats on getting your visa, we hope all goes well for you. From the research we have been doing (for a year now!) I thought the price in the show was house only. Even so it still looks good. We just have to wait now for the visa to progress, so next month we are off for a month's research holiday visiting 3 cities, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne. We were surprised the show didn't cover Melbourne, when we visited last January it was a very lively place, really nice. Anyway, enough waffle from us, Once again, many thanks to all and good luck to everyone.
