Hi All

very interested in what's been said on this thread. I am in a similar position and was beginning to despair.

I have a son, who will be 15 yrs in Sept. He lives with his mother down south and I live in Leeds. I split with the ex-wife when my son was 5yrs and didn't see him for nine years. I have now seen him three times in the last year.

Now I explained to the ex what my intentions where, she was happy and by all accounts my son was excited about the thought of coming to visit me. So I gave my ex the forms 26 and 80, with a piece of paper with the panel doctors near her.

Now on the 8th May, she attempted to make an appointment with the Panel Doctor and I contacted them to make payment, when I was informed my son's passport was out of date, so it couldn't be done yet.

So here starts the dilemma!

The ex applied for a passport on normal return (4-6 weeks) which I paid for but never chased it up. 2 months later, the passport still hadn't returned so I paid for a 24 hour return. This was then rejected because it didn't have my passport number on it! So that's the last I heard on that part of it. I have little contact with my ex now, to the point I still don't know if the passport has finally been received. I have also received a text saying that she will book the medical the following day for a weeks time then call me to confirm it so I can pay. 2 weeks down the line, I still haven't heard anything and the medical centre has confirmed that she hasn't contacted them to make the appointment.

So I have tried for months and haven't been successful in getting the ex to take my son for his medical. With the lack of response from my text's and not answering the phone I am now assuming that she is no longer being cooperative!

I have tried everything to get this done and even explained that this is for my son as well.

As a result of this and I'm hoping that people are still monitoring this thread, would I be able to qualify for getting my visa without his medical. She has shown a level of being cooperative initially but has just dragged her heels to some tune.

I was due to fly to Perth on the 6th Aug, but can't get it sorted in time. My visa application has been in DIAC in Perth since May and I need it to move on now!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Gav
