The chicken or the egg?

My question is, how do you know where to start looking to live? Ideally I would like to live near / in the sunshine coast but my husband may not be able to get a job there?

I really do not want to settle in a place to then find that I have to take the kids out of school to move again.

What do you think of first - the job or the home?

Think it depends on how specialised the job is to whether you can choose where to live. That's what I've found with my job.

Hi

I think this comes down to your reasons and objectives for coming to Australia and the State you have chosen.

You can travel 45 / 60/ 90 minutes each way to locate a job but is that what you have set yourselves ?

Likewise if you have sufficient funds to see you through CTP (career transition program) or adjustment (business from home) then you wont necessarily need to travel in the overall.

Kind regards

Chris

Thanks for the replies. My husband currently travels an hour to work and an hour back, however his job is in and out of the office, so on some days he could spend travelling all over the place.

I was working on the theory that if we were an hour away from Brisbane - we would be about right!
