Hiya ,we too struggled with this when in the uk ,i wanted books on creepy crawlies and oz in general, but aimed at kids, have you looked at the australian ebay ,go to ebay's home page scroll to the very bottom and click australia, may be worth a try, check they will do uk post before you buy, also maybe try amazon books , tell your daughter my 8yr old son wasnt overkeen on coming but after afew months here ,hes loving the outdoor life ,made lots of friends and is looking forwards to his new school,he found it hard the first few weeks ,stuck in the back of the car driving around looking at houses and cars to buy ,but is enjoying it so much now hes up and out by 9am (8am if i let him)calling for friends ,i asked if he would go back to the uk and he said its too cold there! hope this helps ,

Hiya the schools are very different here ,i have bought his uniform and ordered his books for the year $150 approx ,you pay a contributry fee in the first week of term approx $35 i think, the schools i have seen dont have dining rooms the kids sit outside with packed lunches, theres no cantten as such ,a tuck shop provides pre ordered snacks at break time and drinks in the afternoon. They seem quite strict compared to the uk ,but for me thats a good thing. He starts on the 29th so will have more info avail then.
Swimming is one of the big past times so lots of sunscreen and a rash vest is needed if its at the beach or no roof on ,the sun is stronger than you think ,we are used to spain but its caught us out a few times, especially when cloudy.Hats are a must ,its actually school rules & uniform ,if they have no hat they dont play out.im sure she will settle fine ,all the kids ive met seem so friendly ,hope this helps
