moving on to the sunshine coast on student visa

hie all members am a new member.

We will be moving to the sunshine coast on a student visa end of April.Hubby will be studying at the Sunshine Coast University.I would like to know how we can get rental accommodation as we do not know anyone there.I would like to know other peoples experiences.

How easy or difficult is it to get part time work.

Welcome to pio.

this seem to be the best site to look for rentals

Rental Properties, Lease and Holiday Rentals - realestate.com.au

we've just got back from our reccie which took us from Sydney up to the Sunshine Coast and we loved it up there !!

good luck

Mark & Alex

Quoll will become famous soon enough
When you arrive, it would be most sensible to get yourself a short term let for a few weeks to give yourself time to find a place that you would be happy to live in. The university will probably have an accommodation office which may be able to give you some ideas even if they dont have accommodation to let themselves.

As a dependent of someone on a student visa you are only entitled to work 20 hours a week. Generally unemployment is nationally at an all time low so you could be lucky - all depends on what you are prepared to do I suppose and what your area of skill is.
