School Information - New Schools

you will see from this link that the new school Ashdale SHS is scheduled to open in 2009.

My twin boys are due to start this school next year. I have spoken to the new headmistress (Carol Strauss) a couple of times and she seems really nice and keen to help. The college is going to specialise in technology as everything is going to be supplied brand new for them.
The name has also changed from Landsdale High School to Ashdale community College.

Hi Jan,
Thankyou for responding to me. Absolutely any info would be good as I don't really know anything. How do you find out information as I couldn't find anything online except tat it was going to be opening 2009.
My friend has put my sons name down for the school. We are hoping to be there in January 2009 ready for the new school year. Maybe the boys could email each other so that they get to know each other. It would certainly be good for my son. Are you already in WA?

Hi Judith

The information is limited as they are still building the school, The boys go to the primary school across the road at the moment so they will ask to see if they can get some details for you. The area where they are building the school is still empty at the moment except for concrete footings but they will have it finished by January 09.

We came here 4 years ago and it has been the best thing that we can have done. We now run our own driving school out of Madeley. The kids love it, when we left they were very reluctant, now if you ask them if they want to go back they will tell you NO WAY.

Are you planning on living in the Darch/Madeley area?

Hi,
I am hoping to live in Darch as my friends live there. I will be renting a house. Alternatively it will be Madeley or Lansdale. I have friends there that I visited in December. They live near to the primary school. I have a boy of 11 who cannot wait to get back. In fact he would have been happy if i'd left him there at Christmas and picked him up on my return. I also have a 16 year old boy...now he's a different kettle of fish! I am not sure how things are going to pan out with him at the mo. He is very anti.

Do you live in Darch?
I have told my son that you had emailed me and he was quite interested in what your boys get up to etc.

We live in Madeley. The Kids love it. Its great knowing it is safe for them to walk to and from school and not having to worry.

This area is really family aimed. In the summer at weekends they have open aired movies on the primary school oval (thats a round football pitch!). There is always sports and atheletics going on at the sport complex on the main road in Darch. One of the boys plays soccer for Kingsley and he also does modeling. So there is plenty of activities to choose from if they do want to do something.
