After a discussion with my OH we were wondering whether schools in Oz use American spelling or English spelling, for example "color" (american) or "colour" (english).
Neither of us know and would appreciate the answer.

We use the English version of spelling.......... apart from Pollie-Speak ...........as for some unknown reason the ALP somehow got Americanised and is known as the Australian Labor Party........ as opposed to what it should really be................. ie the Australian Labour Party ?

Australia uses British English spelling for the most part. There's a few American words [truck instead of lorry etc] used in preference to British ones.
